Saying Goodbye

I've had to say goodbye more time that I would have liked. But everyone can say that. And no matter how many times we do even for the greater good it still stings. And though we'll never forget what we've given up, we owe it to ourselves to keep moving forward. What we can't do is live our lives always afraid of the next goodbye because chances are, they're not going to stop. The trick is to recognize when a goodbye can be a good thing, when is the chance to start again.

Be Grateful

Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift. When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile. May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trails to make you strong, enough sorrow to k...

Hope is the Thing with Feathers

by Emily Dickinson Hope is the thing with feathers That perches in the soul, And sings the tune without the words, And never stops at all, And sweetest in the gale is heard; And sore must be the storm That could abash the little bird That kept so many warm. I've heard it in the chilliest land And on the strangest sea; Yet, never, in extremity, It asked a crumb of me. *** I first encounteres this poem in grade school. I won't forget Row 2 and the rest of my Rowmates every time I remember this poem. :) They say that to be without hope surely means to have given up on life. Many people live in extremely challenging situations, leading hard lives in appalling conditions. What keeps people going in such circumstances is the glimmer of hope that things can change. This is all I got too. My faith has been challenged and my confidence has been put through the wringer Yet I know someday, it'll make perfect sense. Hope is a free gift. It exists for all of us. All we must do is not c...
