What's Life After High School Life?

Thank you ate Virene for believing in me. It's an honor to share my story to your graduating class. Thank you. 🙏 When I was in 4th year HS, my English teacher told me, in front of the class, when I can't give comments about the book Romeo & Juliet, because I didn't read it and I couldn't speak English that time, "Allego, you will never become successful in your life because you don't know English!". 😭 I was stunned. That got into me. I was so intimidated of the English language and becoming successful in general. Because I believed my teacher. 👩‍🏫 Most of my College subjects were in Filipino. Komunikasyon I, II, III, 10, 100. Kasaysayan, Agham, Matematika. If I can skip English, i will. Until I can't because there's Broadcasting,  Speech and others. I made sure I pass all of them because I didn't wanna repeat it. 📚 Fast forward Nov of 2003 when I first applied in the Call Center Industry. I was told that it's an English Only zone a...

200 Pesos

I remember Mike, talking in front of 100 people, a couple of years ago, started off his seminar by holding up a Php200 bill. In the room he asked. "Who would like this Php200 bill?" Hands started going up. Of course, I raised mine. He said, "I am going to give this Php200 bill to one of you" Then crumpled the 200 bill. I was surprised he did that. He then asked. "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air and again, I raised mine. "Well," he replied, "what if I do this?" He dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his black shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now, who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air and still, I wanted to get the Php200 bill. "Folks, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease it's value. It was still worth Php200. Many times in our lives, we ...

Are You a Duck or an Eagle?

I read in one of the newspaper an article about a Duck and an Eagle. It's about a Businessman-Writer Harvey Mackay who met a cab driver and taught him an important lesson. Based on the article, Harvey was waiting in line for a ride at the airport. When a cab pulled up, the first thing he notices was that the taxi was polished to a bright shine. He saw a a smartly dressed cab driver who jumped out and rounded the car to open the back passenger door for him. The driver introduced himself as Wally, gave Harvey a laminated card stating his mission statement: "To get my customers to their destination in the quickest, safest and cheapest way possible in friendly environment." This blew Harvey away  (and I too was blown away by this. I was thinking, "if only all cab drivers will be like that, how sweet it is, right? If only all people in this world would be like Wally... geez!"). As i continue to read, Harvey was already stuttering when Wally offered...

What are you passionate about? What do you enjoy doing? I t's almost like a pull, a tug inside us, trying to move us to the place where we're celebrated, not tolerated. ***Remember, you're not here for everyone, just someone. Find where you're celebrated. Are You Ready to Start Your Engines?

Start Your Engines! So how will 2020 be different this time? How will YOU be different? What do we change, and what do we nurture and cultivate? To finish the year well, we need to START well. The first few weeks set the pace for the entire year to come. How will you plan out and engineer your 2020? We have an option- We can be a person of action and vitality that wins more often than we lose. Or, as a person who prefers to tip-toe through life trying not to be noticed? - a whiner and complainer who just wants to be left alone. There are winners and there are whiners. Gary Simpson, a motivational trainer and a life coach, once described winners as someone who attracts people to them like bees around honey. They have infectious personalities. They stand out in a crowd. They are people to be reckoned with. They are dreamers, planners and achievers. Winners have conquests in their minds. They talk about opportunities, projects and the future. Winners smile. Whilst whiners ...

God Gives Opportunities

Have you seen " Evan Almighty "?  Yeah, it's an old old film. It's a 2007 fantasy/religious/comedy film about a Newscaster who won a seat in the Congress and God asks him to create an ark to prepare for a flood. It's not best movie Steve Carrell I would say has done but there are a few things I wanted to share with you that I have learned. I remember from the movie when God mentioned, when you pray to have patience, God won't give you patience but an opportunity to be patient instead. If you pray to have time with your family, God won't give you extra hours but an opportunity to be with your family. We have to realize that this has been the opportunity we were praying for. For years I have been praying and praying for a lot of opportunities, these are examples - 1. Time with my family 2. Catch up with some friends 3. Work not to please people but to glorify God 4. To start my own family Of course God won't give me those prayers ...

Mayonnaise Jar and 2 Cups of Coffee

I was browsing through some motivational stuff and read through this write up. I know you can relate and you'd find this story really touching.I know you can always find time reading it. :) When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 Hours in a day is not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee . A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar And proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students, if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.. The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more...
