Lessons I Have Learned Form Fast 6

So after seeing the movie for the third time, i think it pays to have a good review and list down all the things I have learned.

1. Family Comes First - "The moment you step on to that door, it changes everything" This is what Torreto told O'Conner when he was told that Mia gave birth to Jack. This sets the tone of the movie. You put your family above all else.

2. If You Make a Mistake, You Pay For It - Shaw emphasized this to Letty and team when Ivory, one of Shaw's crew died in their encounter with Torreto's team. This teaches someone to be responsible in all their actions.

3. You Have To Have A Code - Shaw's message to Torreto. He mentioned too, "This code you live by makes you predictable. In our line of work predictable makes you vulnerable. I can reach out and break you any time I want." - that's FAMILY. That is because he can easily identify how to make or break someone. On the other hand, keeping your family (Lesson #1), can make you stronger too. This really depends on how you're going to put things in perspective.

4. We All Have A Weak Spot – This quote from Shaw illustrates that we all have a weak spot, no matter how good we are, how tough we are, how great we are… we all have a weak spot and we all have room for improvement.

5. No One Makes Me Do Anything, I Do What I Want To Do – This quote by "Letty" has a powerful and truthful message. There is power in embracing that you are responsible for your own actions and decisions. Often times people try to put the blame on everyone else instead of looking in the mirror.

6. Sometimes You Just Have to Have Faith. This is what Dom responded when Letty asked him, "How did you know that there's a car who's gonna catch us to break our fall?" He didn't know that there will be a car to catch them, he just believed in it. In life, you'll never know someone's gonna catch you when you fall, you just have to keep the faith.

7. Grace Before The Meal - This was towards the end of the movie. Reminds everyone a good value our parents have taught us. Pray.

8. Thank God For Family – This was a really nice moment was at the end of the movie when the crew was gathered together at a modest old house in Los Angeles sitting around the table holding hands and about to say grace before their mea (Lesson #6)l. One of the first words out of Roman's mouth was Thank God For Family. He went on to say thanks for fast cars. This moment is a great reminder that no matter how much we thank God; we still have not thanked Him enough.

If you were presented with an opportunity to do something great - to really leave a mark on the world and make a difference, would you take it? I think that most people would, I know that I certainly would. 🙌 Perhaps the reason that most people don’t end up doing this is because of the personal price that needs to be paid. One thing I’ve certainly learned for myself is that if I want to be able to influence other people and things around me I first need to be able to influence myself. If I want to create change around me, I need to start with myself. I can’t take my same old self into a bright new future - I’ll only darken it. 💥 The good news is that if I put proper focus on changing myself, on growing and learning and developing my skills - my potential will be unlimited. 💪 **** picture below is my inspiration. It's a dream come true to enter The Asian Institute of Management as a student. This happened in 2018 when I was enrolled by my prior company to an Executive Development...

Why Jaywalking?

Why is crossing the street in the wrong place called "jaywalking"? Published with Blogger-droid v2.0.6 In the early 1900s, the word "jay" was slang in the U.S. for a hick, rube, or simpleton -- in other words, a person inexperienced in the ways of the bright lights in the big city. Wordsmiths believe the term "jaywalking" (or "J-walking") originated when cars were relatively new but gaining popularity in cities like Boston and New York. A jaywalker was a newcomer to the city, green to the ways of those modern traffic signals that told folks when they could safely cross the road. The complete Oxford English Dictionary traces the origin of the word to early 20th-century Boston, where sophisticated city folk with little tolerance for rural folk coined the term. In those days, jaywalkers would have encountered Model T's tooling along at the break-neck speed of 20 mph. Today's urban lawbreakers face greater risks, with sports cars, SUVs, ...
