Amazing Photos

I find this picture so interesting. This was taken at the plane when Eman and PJ are on their way to Cebu. This has melted my heart and gave me a realization that with all the things going on right now, we just always need to pause - and pray. Let me share with you one scripture that i have read today from Jon Orana and helped me understand a lot of things. Psalm 17:5 Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not. Burt had worked in high-rise construction all his life. Everyday he would walk the girders high above the ground with apparent ease. In his lifetime he had seen a number of men plunge from the girders due to a mere moment of carelessness. As for himself, he knew he had been lucky. Each morning he began work only after saying a short prayer, asking the Lord to watch his movements through the day, keeping him safe from any mishap. Though most of us never do anything as dangerous or risky as high-rise construction, we do stand in danger of falling to temptati

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all up hill, When the funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest if you must, but don't you quit. Life is queer with its twists and turns, As everyone of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns about When he might have won had he stuck it out; Don't give up, though the pace seems slow - You might succeed with another blow. Often the goal is nearer than It seems to a faint and faltering man, Often the struggler has given up When he might have captured the victor's cup. And he learned too late, when the night slipped down, How close he was to the golden crown. Success is failure turned inside out - The silver tint of the clouds of doubt - And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems afar; So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit - It's when things seem worst that yo

Earth Hour

Along with the 88 countries and more than 4,000 cities who joined Earth Hour 2009, my family at home and our work place participated in Earth Hour. According to Wikipedia, Earth Hour is a global event organized by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature, also known as World Wildlife Fund) and is held on the last Saturday of March annually, asking households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change. Earth Hour 2009 was from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. local time, March 28, 2009. It was truly awesome that indeed we can help save energy in our own small ways. Did you participate?

UNTITLED

Untie these cords that seemed to bind me Imaginary as it is, seemed too real for me Don’t let the words refrain be heard There’s nothing that could ease these piercing hurt Sing no familiar tunes of the days long gone Talk no familiar words of the promises done Beneath the sun, tears ran down Nothing could ease the hurt that’s bound Look no more with affectionate gaze Smile no more with saddened fates Love no more, the truth I see This hurt I feel was meant to be Dream no more of love lit days We both are lost in this crazy maze Better to stop while we still are near To the face stained of yesterdays tears A heart that’s true, it is not you A love thought real, ache was left to feel A love, a dream we thought could last Really was love that never was…

Jethsel's Start of the Week Habit v15 Tiger, Gates, Jolie, Oprah and You

They probably have a lot of characteristics in common. Let’s focus on one today. This single characteristic is so important that they could have NEVER been great without it. Never. No chance. And we can't either. I always ask myself. Are you having challenges moving forward, going for what you desire? Do you sometimes feel all over the place? That's not going to cut it, if you want to succeed. My mentor keeps on reminding me that… It's easy for people to be scattered. It's easy for people to be unfocused. It's easy for people to sit on their couch all day. It's easy to be indifferent about your goals and dreams. But at some time we have to step and make a DECISION to go for it. Tiger, Gates, Jolie, Oprah I always wonder, what do they all have? You know, my mentor said, they have the POWER to concentrate and focus on what they want and NOT GIVE UP until they get what they want. Can I do this? Can we do this? Can we add mor

Mr. and Mrs. Rustans

He is Jeff and I don't know the lady's name. I wasn't able to ask. I was dead in a hurry because it's 7:45pm. I need to go back to Araneta by 8pm because we need to go to Makati, and I was still in Rustan's waiting for Mr. Wrapper to wrap the Mushabelly Chatter. I was supposed to buy the Book "The Definitive Book of Body Language" by Allan and Amanda Pease for Vivek but unfortunately, I can't find a copy so I decided to get the stuffed toy instead hoping that he will like it. (And i'm happy he did) Anyway, tight schedule. Yeah. Really. Mr. Wrapper was really in demand that time so I decided to ask for a plastic bag instead and leave the store. Then Mr. and Mrs. Rustans volunteered to wrap the gift. They immediately got a piece of green gift wrapping paper, a ribbon, a pair of scissors, a scotch tape and viola! My gift has been wrapped. ☺ I really appreciate the kind of customer service I got from Mr. and Mrs. Rustans. I was really thankful they wer

Jethsel's Start of the Week Habit v5 Attitude Determines Attitude

I woke up early today, excited. I have responsibilities to fulfill today. I am important. My job is to choose what kind of day I am going to have. Today I can complain because the weather is sunny or I can be thankful that my clothes will dry fast. Today I can feel sad that I don't have more money or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste. Today I can grumble about my health or I can rejoice that I am alive. Today I can lament over all that my parents didn't give me when I was growing up or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born. Today I can cry because roses have thorns or I can celebrate that thorns have roses. Today I can mourn my lack of friends or I can excitedly embark upon a quest to discover new relationships. Today I can whine because I have to go to work or I can shout for joy because I have a job to do. I can whimper because of the calls on queue or I can be eager to help out another customer

WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one. When you thought I wasn't looking saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals. When you thought I wasn't looking, saw you make my favorite cake for me and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life. When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a prayer, and I knew there is a God I could always talk to and I learned to trust in God. When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other. When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of your time and money to help people who had nothing and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don't. When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it and

Jethsel's Start of the Week Habit v3 - Start Your Engines!

Start Your Engines! So how will 2009 be different for us? How will YOU be different? What will we change, and what will we nurture and cultivate? To finish the year well, we need to START well. The first few weeks set the pace for the entire year to come. How will you plan out and engineer your 2009? We have an option- We can be a person of action and vitality that wins more often than we lose. Or, as a person who prefers to tip-toe through life trying not to be noticed? - a whiner and complainer who just wants to be left alone. There are winners and there are whiners. Gary Simpson, a motivational trainer and a life coach, once described winners as someone who attracts people to them like bees around honey. They have infectious personalities. They stand out in a crowd. They are people to be reckoned with. They are dreamers, planners and achievers. Winners have conquests in their minds. They talk about opportunities, projects and the future. Winners smile. Whilst whiners repel people li
