A Short Story

She doesn’t know what happened.

She woke up one day; everyone hates her and don’t like her. She can’t do anything for the people to forget the past. She admitted she made a mistake and she tried to catch up on things and move on. They can’t forget James and they can’t seem to forgive her. She’s been asking, “What do I need to do? People have been so nosy about my stories and my life. Why do they care about me?”

Matt has been saying a lot of things about her & yet she still tried to befriend him. “Is it my problem that all the while I thought we were friends and he bluntly said in my face that he never treated me one?” she cries. She can’t understand why Matt can’t deal with her anymore. She doesn’t know exactly how she have hurt or offended him that turned his back on her. And he didn’t even mention anything to her so they can work on it.

All the while she was trying to find the root-cause of her problem and until now that she has realized that she doesn’t have to look that far to fix it. It was just right in front of her.

She has been so tired of trying to please everyone and think and do what's best for them. She was once told that, "the worst thing that a leader would do is to try to please everyone" She knows it’s not right but that's the only way she can at least reach out to them. She’s been crying and her heart is in pain. Asking God what His plans are for her and why the things are happening. This scripture came to her and made her realized a lot of things -

Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God.2 Cor3:5

- We must experience our weakness to experience God's strength.
She knows He has always been forgiving and understanding; He will not let us fall down.

200 Pesos

I remember Mike, talking in front of 100 people, a couple of years ago, started off his seminar by holding up a Php200 bill. In the room he asked. "Who would like this Php200 bill?" Hands started going up. Of course, I raised mine. He said, "I am going to give this Php200 bill to one of you" Then crumpled the 200 bill. I was surprised he did that. He then asked. "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air and again, I raised mine. "Well," he replied, "what if I do this?" He dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his black shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now, who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air and still, I wanted to get the Php200 bill. "Folks, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease it's value. It was still worth Php200. Many times in our lives, we ...

Heart Talks #1: Enigma

Its an enigma when you fall in love and accept that some good things never last. Suddenly you'll begin to see yourself as nothing. Its agony to accept that despite the feelings you have, its all not enough, but when you love someone, you would do the hardest thing and yes its not going to be easy, but at least you know that what you felt was real in the end, you'll ask yourself “does it hurt?”. Then you'll close your eyes and whisper, “yes, but its all worthwhile”.
