Meeting with Mr. DFA

I was scheduled for personal appearance in DFA the other day and it was a disappointing yet interesting experience.

Thanks to some friends who were thoughtful enough to give me some tips and i was able to be there in one piece.

I was advised to bring 3 more pictures because the initial pictures i submitted were rejected. The representative said, it was blurry. So i decided to just have my picture taken right there. Thinking that since it's in DFA, it would be perfect. But i was wrong. I kinda felt that it was a scam that the 2nd set of pictures I'm supposed to submit were rejected again by the "guy-in-blue-vest-mr.-know-it-all" and he said that those pictures where yellowish and would not pass Mr. DFA's requirement. Of course I had to have my picture taken again so I can enter Mr. DFA's kingdom.

Then i entered his building. I passed two security checks where they checked on my things unlike the usual mall check ups where they just put the stick inside your bag as if it has a censor and just alarm if they found something different.

I was like a special guest where i have an escort. We were walking at my pace. No need to be in a hurry. I was not under pressure or what not. Then the guy escorted me to a section of Mr. DFA'S building exclusively for us. A girl talked me, informing me of what's going to happen. She gave me something to read, a feedback form and some candies. Then someone called my name and asked me to go to Mr. DFA. I was asked to show off my ID pictures and sign the documents, and viola! I'm done. It took me probably 15 minutes to finish everything inside his office and they will just send me the passport. Then I'm done.

Well, it was an outstanding customer service and hats off to Pilipinas Teleserv for doing a great job. My experience then could have been perfect without my awful experience on the id picture.

Pray it Works

200 Pesos

I remember Mike, talking in front of 100 people, a couple of years ago, started off his seminar by holding up a Php200 bill. In the room he asked. "Who would like this Php200 bill?" Hands started going up. Of course, I raised mine. He said, "I am going to give this Php200 bill to one of you" Then crumpled the 200 bill. I was surprised he did that. He then asked. "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air and again, I raised mine. "Well," he replied, "what if I do this?" He dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his black shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now, who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air and still, I wanted to get the Php200 bill. "Folks, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease it's value. It was still worth Php200. Many times in our lives, we ...

Be Grateful

Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift. When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us. The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had. It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives. Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile. May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trails to make you strong, enough sorrow to k...
