Hansel and Gretel Feat. Ysabella

According to Wikipedia,  Hansel and Gretel is a well-known fairy tale of German origin, recorded by the Brothers Grimm and published in 1812. Hansel and Gretel are a young brother and sister threatened by a cannibalistic witch living deep in the forest in a house constructed of cake and confectionery. The two children save their lives by outwitting her.

As we grew with the story, there were a lot of versions and surely each one has its own point and highlights. We even saw the most recent movie adaptation of this fairy tale - the Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. In this spin on the fairy tale, Hansel & Gretel are now bounty hunters who track and kill witches all over the world. As the fabled Blood Moon approaches, the siblings encounter a new form of evil that might hold a secret to their past.

Another adaptation was this Ballet show I attended in Meralco Theater on May 18, 2013. It was the first time that I have attended a ballet show and it got me so interested in the story again. They called it - "reinvented Hansel and Gretel". Reinvented because they got Little Red Riding Hood in the Story.

I was able to capture some of the parts of the show, especially when my friend's daughter, Ysabella Panghulan - is part of.
