Jethsel's Start of the Week Habit v48 5 STEPS

I was thinking of what to write for you today when I remember this movie from Star Cinema in 2008, “My Big Love”. I don't think you've seen it but there's one thing that i'd like to share with you from that movie which we can definitely apply in our daily lives.

The lead character, Toni Gonzaga, a gym fitness instructor, shares 5 steps to her clients to attain their Goal (in losing weight):

Step 1: Set your goal – do something you want to do, not out of revenge to someone or any form of vendetta, but do it for yourself.

Step 2: Start today – Today not tomorrow.

Step 3: No shortcuts – You really has to work hard for it.

Step 4: Get motivated – look for someone or something that would inspire you to achieve your goal.

Step 5: Be happy – be happy with what you are doing. nothing else makes hard work easy if you love doing it for yourself.

The steps mentioned were not only applicable for loosing weight, but in any other goals you've set for yourself. You can actually complement this with the SMART goal-setting – that is Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-Bound.

The movie was not just fun and laughter, but shares a good lessons worth living by – not only about losing weight and being healthy – but an important lesson about “Being Happy" and working hard for your dreams.

I’ve done some of my goals following the steps mentioned above. Make it yours too. ;)

Be Grateful

Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift. When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us. The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had. It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives. Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile. May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trails to make you strong, enough sorrow to k...

Why Jaywalking?

Why is crossing the street in the wrong place called "jaywalking"? Published with Blogger-droid v2.0.6 In the early 1900s, the word "jay" was slang in the U.S. for a hick, rube, or simpleton -- in other words, a person inexperienced in the ways of the bright lights in the big city. Wordsmiths believe the term "jaywalking" (or "J-walking") originated when cars were relatively new but gaining popularity in cities like Boston and New York. A jaywalker was a newcomer to the city, green to the ways of those modern traffic signals that told folks when they could safely cross the road. The complete Oxford English Dictionary traces the origin of the word to early 20th-century Boston, where sophisticated city folk with little tolerance for rural folk coined the term. In those days, jaywalkers would have encountered Model T's tooling along at the break-neck speed of 20 mph. Today's urban lawbreakers face greater risks, with sports cars, SUVs, ...
